Empire Physicians Medical Group (EPMG) is an Independent Practice Association (IPA) comprised of more than 40 primary care physicians and over 200 specialists in the Coachella Valley who are committed to the health and well being of their patients. Why EPMG?

EPMG has established a community wide reputation for excellent service by providing health care in conveniently located, private practice offices.

What if I become ill?

If you become sick, you will call the primary care physician that you have personally selected. Your physician will treat you in his or her private office. Should you need to see a specialist or visit an urgent care facility, your primary care physician will refer you to a physician or facility in our network. Our UM nurses work with your primary care physician to ensure that your referral is handled to meet your needs. As a member of EPMG you can rest assured that if you need to be hospitalized you will receive care at one of the high quality hospitals with which we are currently associated. If you need care that the hospital does not provide, we have an extended network of high quality hospital facilities to meet any patient care need.

How do I sign up with EPMG?

Becoming a member of EPMG is easy. Look in your health plan directory for Empire Physicians Medical Group. The directory will list all of the physicians that belong to EPMG, their office locations and the health plan code number that you need to use when selecting a physician. Use this number on your health plan enrollment form or when enrolling over the telephone to become a member EPMG. You may switch to a EPMG doctor by contacting your health plan and telling them that you would like to join EPMG. Upon request, information about our Quality Improvement Program, including a description of the Program and report on progress in meeting stated goals, is available to members, practitioners and public.
